Bright suns from Batuu! (That means hello in Aurebesh- the written language of Batuu!) Batuu is a remote planet that’s home to the Black Spire Outpost and I enjoyed getting to visit! Disney offered Annual Passholder previews for the new Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, that is opening August 29th, so when they sent out invitations, I quickly signed up!
The entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and valid theme park admission is required to experience it.
Once you enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you will come up to the Resistance Supply. Look at the details of everything! Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, everything was so cool and amazing how much you truly felt immersed.
Food & Beverage
Kat Saka’s Kettle: Sweet and savory snacks consisting of sweet and spicy popcorn. You can also purchase the Coke bottles from this location. However, TSA just announced that you can not bring the Coke bottles from Galaxy’s Edge onto any carry on bags because it looks like a replica explosive. Travelers who visit Batuu are allowed to bring on the lightsabers and droids in their carry on and checked bags, but the Coke bottles are a no-no. The only way to get those home if you are flying is to either ship them back home before you leave or pack them in your checked luggage.
Ronto Roasters: Grilled sausage and pork wraps are found on this menu. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the form of wraps and jerky!
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo: Variety of dishes all across the galaxy including beef pot roast, smoked pork ribs, and fried chicken.
Oga’s Cantina: Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with a couple of sweet and spicy snack option. This cantina is mostly standing room only and has a fun vibe with some interesting alien music playing! You must make a reservation for Oga’s in advance and can be made 180 days in advance! Currently, you are only allowed a 2 drink maximum and a 45-minute visit. This is definitely one of my favorite bars on Disney property! It is so fun and the vibe is super cool inside. I ordered the Bespin Fizz and loved the taste along with the fizzy bubbles thanks to the dry ice. Dan had the Fuzzy Taun Taun and it actually made it lips go numb! (This is part of the drink, and was not an allergic reaction he was having, hehe)
Milk Stand: Both blue and green milks are available, and both colored milks are actually non-dairy and plant-based frozen beverages made with coconut and rice milks. The Blue Milk’s flavors blend dragon fruit, pineapple, lime, and watermelon, while the Green Milk had a citrus flavor. Even better, you can either milk with alcohol! The Blue Milk Cooler features Bacardi rum, while the Green Milk Cooler adds a bit of Corazon Blanco Tequila to the standard milk. Both nonalcoholic milks are $7.99, and $14.00 with added alcohol and can be used on the Disney Dining Plan!
Black Spire Outpost’s Marketplace: Consists of a collection of shops and merchant stalls.
Dok-Ondars’ Den of Antiquities: Dok Ondar keeps rare and unique items and antiquities from across the galaxy.

Attractions:
Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run: Fly the fastest ship in the galaxy! Take part in a 6 person crew with a job of either a pilot, gunner, or engineer. Rumor has it that a boarding pass queue will be offered to guests wanting to ride this attraction or visit Galaxy’s Edge. If you are put into the virtual queue while you’re waiting to enter Batuu, you will be free to enjoy the rest of the park and then can check either the My Disney Experience app or check-in with the Guest Experience team that can be found within the park for the land’s current status.
To make sure that you’ll be able to join the virtual queue, you’ll need to make sure you have the latest version of the My Disney Experience app downloaded on your phone and have your tickets linked. You will then be notified when it’s time to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge through notifications from the app.
To see if the land is open, you can check the My Disney Experience app and look for the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: Status and Access. If the land’s status says open, you’ll be able to proceed directly to the entrance near Grand Avenue. (Right near Muppet*Vision 3D)
If the land is full, it will say Access by Boarding Group Only and you will then select to Join a Boarding Group. When I rode Millenium Falcon, I was given the Gunner role. While it was fun to be able to shoot the ships and robots in front of me, the best job available is the pilot. You really have the most control and access on the ride. I feel like the other jobs are kind of pointless and you’re just sitting there watching what the pilots are doing.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: Opening December 5th, 2019! This trackless dark ride puts guests in the middle of an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Note: Disney’s FastPass+ service will not initially be offered for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during Extra, Extra Magic Hours for guests staying at Disney Resort hotels. From September 1st to November 2nd, the Extra, Extra Magic Hours benefit is being offered every morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
As you can see, there is SO much to look forward to with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening August 29th! Characters such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and Rey may be walking around along with some Storm Troopers so be on the lookout for them! Star Wars Launch Bay will still be open over near Animation Courtyard so that you can still meet Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and BB-8!
