Universal Orlando is a family-friendly theme park and a destination for millions of visitors each year. Family vacations with your little ones are fun, but sometimes, adults need their own trip and Universal is a great place to go, even if you are without children! If you are childless like me, and looking for a fun vacation to Universal Orlando, there is still plenty to do and see that is best for adults! Universal has also geared more toward the older demographic, but families with little ones still visit Universal Orlando year after year. Universal is definitely adult-friendly and worth a visit if you are looking to take a childless vacation in the future.

Make the most of your vacation with fun for adults only. You can experience top attractions, enjoy a spa, fine dining, nightlight, and entertainment.

Top Attractions For Adults

If you’re looking for thrill rides like roller coasters or 3D experiences, you will definitely find something that is more of your interest instead of your kids. Top Adult Rides Include:

Islands of Adventure

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (3D)

The Incredible Hulk Coaster

Doctor Doom’s Fearfall

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

Universal Studios

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

Transformers: The Ride (3D)

The Simpsons Ride

Revenge of the Mummy

Enjoy Universal City Walk

Before COVID, Universal City Walk was the top destination for entertainment, dining, shopping, dancing, etc. Adults had the best time here and was even open late for adults to enjoy the night clubs as well. Things have changed a bit since COVID, but City Walk is still open for business. While the nightclubs have not yet opened just yet, Universal Orlando will get back to the way it used to be. There is still fun to be had for adults at City Walk!

Enjoy mini gold at Hollywood Drive-In Gold

If you like karaoke, Rising Star is a must-visit. (COVID has impacted this at the moment)

Let loose and go dancing at the Groove or Red Coconut Club (COVID has impacted this at the moment)

Eat a delicious meal at Big Fire, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Cowfish, Hard Rock, and more!

Catch a Blue Man Group shop at Universal! This is such a fun date night idea. Get dinner at City Walk before or after your show.

Resorts

Enjoy a premier resort like Loews Royal Pacific, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, or Hard Rock Hotel. Spend your day visiting the pool and enjoy a poolside beverage from the pool bar.  Spend time at the spa with a relaxing massage and book full-spa services for a day of pampering. If you are looking to take a vacation on a budget, enjoy Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. This resort has the largest pool on Universal property as well as Strongwater Bar. One of my favorite bars! Aventura Hotel also has a wonderful rooftop bar, giving you panoramic views of Orlando as well as the theme parks.

Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park

Who says a water park is just for children?! Experience some of the best and coolest water rides at Volcano Bay. Plunge down the body slides, ride the aqua coaster, or relax on Waturi Beach or the lazy river.

Indulge and make the most of your day with a cabana rental. Relax and enjoy the water park from the privacy of your own cabana. These cabanas come with lounge chairs, a small fridge stocked with water, and a complimentary fruit and snack basket. You will also get a towel and locker service as well as a personal concierge service.

VIP Tours

When you are on an adult-only vacation, you may think about splurging a little bit and appreciating something that costs more than if you had brought your children along for the trip. A VIP Tour is a great way to indulge in your adult-only vacation. VIP Tours allow you to the front of the line access to attractions, meals (like breakfast or lunch) and a backstage tour. Private VIP Tours include meals and customized itineraries. You get to experience rides and shows with a personal escort and make it a day that you’ll never forget. Get treated like a VIP with a tour like this. Remember, this is a separate ticket purchase from your park admission.

Halloween Horror Nights

Visit Universal Orlando during one of Universal’s most popular events- Halloween Horror Nights. One of my favorite events at Universal Studios! This event is definitely not recommended for any children and is definitely geared more for adults. If you are thinking of bringing your children for a Halloween event, head over to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for a more child-friendly event. Halloween  Horror Nights runs every year from September to early November. Haunted houses are themed to popular films. Scare actors make their way through the parks along with fun scare zones to walk through and shows to see. This is definitely a must-do when visiting in the Fall and is best left to adults to experience! This is a separate ticket event and I highly recommend Universal Express Passes for this event because lines can get long!

Get Your Drink and Eat On

Let’s be honest- one of the best parts of an adult-only vacation is getting to act like a kid! Eating and drinking what you want is part of the fun! Some of Orlando’s best food and drinks can be found both in the parks, City Walk, and the resorts.
