Minnie’s Halloween Dine is BACK and while things are a bit different due to COVID and social distancing, this is still a great character experience and meal to enjoy.

If you are someone like me who enjoys all the Halloween things, I definitely suggest this character meal! Minnie’s Halloween Dine takes place at Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios. In year’s past, this event was an all you care to enjoy buffet. This year, the food is served family-style and brought to your table. This is great news for me! I am not a fan of buffets. I would much rather have the food served to me to allow me to sit at my table and fully relax and enjoy my meal and not have to worry about getting up to get the food I want around a bunch of people.

This lunch or dinner meal includes shared starters along with a choice of soft drink, individually plated entrees, and desserts. The lunch or dinner experience is $55 for adults and $36 for children ages 3-9.

Dan and I both opted for the Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper Prime Rib of Beef and it was delicious! It is cooked to taste, so you can choose the desired temperature of your meat. The prime rib was also served with Sour Cream-Chive Whipped Potatoes, Fried Brussels Sprouts, and Pearl Onions with Red Wine Jus. The portion was huge and definitely filling after eating tons of salad and rolls!
Dessert was heavenly! Again, Dan and I got the same thing: Chocolate S’mores Pie. The dessert portion was huge and very filling! I was surprised at the size and for the price of the meal, found this to be totally worth eating here!
Arrival:
When you get to Hollywood and Vine, you can actually pull up your reservation through the My Disney Experience app. You will be able to check in and will receive a text message when your table is ready! You can also scan the QR code upon arrival which will take you to your reservation.
Social Distancing markers will also show you where to stand and either enter or exit.
Order:
You will receive a paper that will have a QR code on it. You can scan the code through your Camera app on your smartphone and will be taken directly to the menu. It was super easy to do.
Characters:
Because of social distancing, characters will not be able to come up directly to your table. You will see them from afar, but they still do their best to interact with you! They even come out and dance and make their way back around the tables so that you do spend a good amount of time seeing them. I also noticed that they come out about every 30 minutes, so if you book an early mealtime and take your time eating, your chances of seeing them twice is pretty great!
You will see:
Minnie Mouse in her witch costume
Mickey Mouse as a vampire
Pluto with his Halloween collar on
Goofy dressed as a cowboy
At the end of the meal, each guest will receive a Halloween themed card with the character’s autographs since characters are no longer coming to your table for autographs.

Reservations:
These can be made in advance and highly recommend in doing so! Our reservation was at 6:30 PM and the park closed at 7 PM, so the characters only came out once. Families around us had earlier dinner reservations and had gotten to see the characters come through twice. I definitely recommend making an early reservation and taking your time so that way you can spend more time seeing the characters, especially if you eat slowly!
Recommendation:
Overall, this was my first character dining experience in a very long time! Even with social distancing, Disney did a wonderful job keeping the magic alive. Between the Halloween music they play throughout the restaurant, the good food, and overall Halloween theme, I genuinely feel you get your money’s worth and a great Halloween experience! I highly recommend this if you can visit!
