Dan and I splurged and booked premium seating when visiting Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park and it was SO worth it.

Premium Seating at Volcano Bay is one of the add-on experiences that you can book when visiting Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay also offers cabanas, but since it was just the 2 of us, we thought having premium seating was a better choice for us.

When you arrive at Volcano Bay, you will see a sign for Premium Seating. You will see a kiosk and attendants that will check you in and direct you to the premium seating locations. Your attendant will let you pick out a lounger than you like, so walk around and find one that you are interested in. The earlier you arrive, the better to give you the best seats to pick from.

The Volcano Bay Premium Seating includes two padded loungers with an adjustable umbrella and a built-in locker for storage. All the premium seating loungers are in the beach areas. There will be a food and delivery attendant in the area who you can order directly from. OR, you can use the Official Universal Orlando Resort app and mobile order from the premium seating location. You’ll be given a select QR code and will be able to enter the cabana number you have in order to have your food and drinks delivered directly to your seat.

One of the hardest decisions to make when you get to Volcano Bay is where to sit at the water park. If you don’t have a pre-purchased premium seat or a cabana, you will have to find your own chairs (and hopefully an umbrella!) down by the Volcano or in other areas around the park. When you book premium seats, you are guaranteed to have a great location, shaded seating, and an easy-to-find spot when going to and from your seat.

Another great feature that comes with premium seating (that I briefly mentioned above) is that you will have your own personal attendant that will come to check on you or if you need food or drinks, you can order directly from them! The lines for food and drinks can start to get long during lunch and in the afternoon, so being able to sit in the comfort of your own chair and have it brought to you is SO convenient.

Something important to note is that halfway through the day, the position of the sun will change and you will no longer have shade like you originally started with. The tops of the premium seating loungers don’t move, so you will be directly in the sun in the afternoon depending on where your seats are. However, our seats were perfectly positioned with a great view of the volcano and a really large palm tree, so we were still shaded in the afternoon which was great.

It’s important to note that pricing for premium seating is based on date and availability. The closer you get to your visit, the more expensive the seating can be. If the availability is also limited, pricing can be determined by inventory, so it’s important to book sooner than later. If you book during off-season or weekdays, it’s typically lower priced than weekends, holidays, or summer.
