Disney’s H2O Glow After Hours Event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is here! This event runs select nights from May 25 to August 31, 2024, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This was my first time experiencing this fun event and it did not disappoint! I love this event because you’ll get to enjoy low wait times for a lot of rides, get special snacks, and enjoy fun entertainment throughout the entire event.

Event Highlights

Experience Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park in the dark! The entire park is lit with fun glowing neon colors to see as you walk around. However, there are no lights on in the slide tubes so just keep that in mind. It is a little scary! The best part is that even though this event officially starts at 8 PM, you can get in starting at 6 PM to start riding some rides and enjoying everything Typhoon Lagoon has to offer.

Locker Rental

There are 2 locker options offered at Typhoon Lagoon during the event (as well as during the day):

Standard (12.5″ x 10″ x 17″): $10 per day

Large (15.5″ x 13″ x 17″): $15 per day

Towels

Complimentary towels are available at Singapore Sal’s and Lowtide Lou’s.

Drinks and Snacks

Enjoy complimentary ice cream sandwiches and popsicles, popcorn, and select beverages (like soda!).

There are 4 different locations where you can find free popcorn and ice cream:

Fred’s Scuba Shop

Happy Landings

Lowtide Lou’s

Tropical Amity Outpost

There are 5 different locations where you can find free soft drinks:

Leaning Palms

Lowtide Lou’s

Snack Shack

Surf Doggies

Tropical Amity Outpost

Additional food and drinks can be purchased at select locations across the park. We opted to eat dinner when we arrived at 6 PM and there were quick service locations available to purchase from even though the park was technically closed to non-party ticket guests. Bars are also open throughout the event if you want to purchase alcohol.

Fun Attractions

Enjoy tons of water rides like Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Castaway Creek, raft rides, and waterslides. There will be lower wait times since the number of tickets for this event is limited. All of these attractions below are usually open during this event:

Bay Slides

Castaway Creek

Crush ‘n’ Gusher

Gangplank Falls

Humunga Kowabunga

Mayday Falls

Miss Adventure Falls

Storm Slides

Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool

Entertainment

Dance the night away during a DJ dance party. You’ll get to dance with characters like Chip ‘n’ Dale and Goofy! They do fun dances on stage and then come out into the crowd to mingle and dance with everyone.

You’ll also get to meet fun Disney Characters like Phineas and Ferb at Getaway Glen right near Leaning Palms. (Tip: Get your snacks and drinks after you meet them because you can’t hold food or drinks while meeting characters!) This year was the first year Phineas and Ferb came to H2O Glow so I hope they return in the future!

My Pro Tips

When To Book This Event During Your Trip

There is no wrong time to book this during your visit! Since it’s later at night, I think doing this event the same day you visit Animal Kingdom is manageable. Since Animal Kingdom closes early, you could visit Animal Kingdom during early entry through mid-afternoon (Early entry is included for all Disney resort guests!). Then, you could leave the park early to go back to your hotel to hang out, rest, and relax. While this event officially starts at 8 PM, you can get in starting at 6 PM which gives you time to eat dinner in the park if you don’t eat before and you can start early on the fun and start riding some rides if you want! I suggest having your resort day the following day to allow you to sleep in since you will be staying later in the evening for this event.

Bring Neon Merchandise

Disney gives you a glow necklace as your souvenir. We brought our neon glow glasses, bracelets, and necklaces so we were glowing all night! It was fun to wear since it does get dark out. I also liked having it as I rode through the dark waterslides because you can’t see much with it pitch black in there!

Ready to book this fun event? It is only offered during the summer so if you want to plan a trip during the summer months, be sure to add this to your trip! If you are visiting Orlando for a few days and don’t want to be in the theme parks, you can still attend this event! I can even help you purchase the stand-alone tickets! Let’s find the dates that work best for you!
