Universal Orlando recently launched their new “Mega Movie” Parade at Universal Studios and it’s adorable!!

About

The Mega Movie Parade is the new daytime parade that has replaced the Universal Superstar Parade from 2022. This parade showcases multiple floats and characters from so many Universal movies including E.T., Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Kung Fu Panda, Depsicable Me, and more!

The Mega Movie Parade is Universal Orlando’s biggest parade that they have ever had. It features 13 floats and over 100 performers including dancers, skaters, and stilt walkers.

Be sure to look for Easter egg-style nods to Universal films throughout the parade. These are so fun to look for.

Parade Route

The Mega Movie Parade starts between Cafe La Bamba and the Horror Make-Up Show. The parade turns left and heads down the street through Hollywood. It then goes through Illumination Avenue through New York and heads back to where it originally started.

Pro Tip: Where to Watch the Parade

I love watching the parade in the Hollywood section of the park. You get to see the parade first and then can get back to riding rides while everyone else is still waiting around the park to see the parade.

Be sure to grab a spot or on along the paraderoute about 45 minutes to an hour before for the best viewing! (The earlier the better!)

There is an annual passholder location near Mel’s Drive-In that is roped off for a reserved viewing location. ADA Access is also available in specific locations marked along the parade route.

Dates and Time

The Mega Movie Parade runs at Universal Studios on select dates through November 14th. Typically this will be every day, but there may be a few days that the parade won’t run. The time can change each day, so be sure to check the official Universal Orlando app on the day of your park visit to make sure you know the most up-to-date time for the parade. Also, be sure to note that the parade will not run in inclement weather. I went to see the parade on the first night that is was offered and it was delayed a few times due to lightning. The second night, the parade was cancelled due to the weather. Universal will try their best to run the parade, but sometimes it just can’t be possible if there is bad weather for a long period.

Bubble Wands

Did you know if you purchase one of the fun bubble wands,  they are interactive?! You can point your wand at the float and it will interact with the float and other bubble wands. This is so cool!
