Royal Caribbean’s Hideaway Beach is the first and only adult-only location at Perfect Day at CocoCay. This adult-only location is the best area to spend time on the private island for anyone looking for a kid-friendly beach day. Read more to find out all about this amazing area at CocoCay as well as how you can get onboard credit on your next cruise!
Hideaway Beach is an adult-only location that is an additional cost to visit at Perfect Day at CocoCay. All guests must be at least 18 years or older and pay the entrance fee. Note: Royal Caribbean does limit the number of guests on this portion of the island, so you will need to book your reservation to visit in advance to avoid it selling out in advance.
Hideaway Beach is more than just a beach without kids. This large expansion of the island is the perfect getaway for fun, entertainment, a beautiful beach and pool, and more.
Overview
Hideaway Beach is located on the south side of CocoCay. You can visit Hideaway Beach by taking the complimentary tram or taking the 5-minute walk from the CocoCay pier. It’s super easy to get to regardless of which way you take. Note: The walk to Hideaway has beautiful views of the ship that you’ll want to stop and get photos of!
Hideaway Beach can hold about 1,800 guests. You find a beach, an infinity pool, and cabanas. (cabanas are an additional cost)
Towels are found at multiple locations at Hideaway Beach (at the towel hut) so you don’t have to bring them from the ship.
Admission to Hideaway Beach includes:
Access to the beach and pool
Complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and in-water hammocks
Food from Hideaway Hut and Slice of Paradise (it’s good too!!)
Royal Caribbean took the top portions of every other part of CocoCay and turned it into one amazing adult-only location. It has the infinity pool from Coco Beach Club, the DJ and swim-up bar from Oasis Lagoon, the food from Snack Shack, and the big beautiful cove beach.
Beach and Pool Area
When you arrive at Hideaway Beach, you’ll notice how large it is! The cove is large with plenty of space for everyone to relax and spend time in the water. This is one of the largest beaches you’ll find at CocoCay.
There are tons of chairs and umbrellas around the beach as well as the pool area so there is plenty of seating at Hideaway Beach. I think it’s better to get off the ship as early as possible so that way you can get the best seating choice if you’re one of the first to arrive to Hideaway.
The pool area has a swim-up bar with a DJ that will play music from the early afternoon until it’s time for you to get back on the ship. This is where it turns into a party in the afternoon! The pool is heated at Hideaway (this is different than Oasis Lagoon) so you can be in the pool year-round! The day beds that are located in the pool are complimentary and are first-come, first-serve, so if you want one of these, you’ll need to get off the ship as soon as you can!
Dining at Hideaway Beach
Admission to Hideaway Beach includes food at both dining locations (Hideaway Hut and Slice of Paradise). You’ll find burgers, chicken sandwiches, caesar salad with grilled chicken or shrimp, ceviche, coconut shrimp, and more at Hideaway Hut. Pizza and empanadas are offered at Slice of Paradise.
Note: This food is similar to the Snack Shack which is what you’ll find on the other part of CocoCay, but this menu is much bigger and I think it’s much better!
It is important to remember that food is included when visiting Hideaway Beach but drinks are extra (just like the other parts of CocoCay). If you have a drink package that you purchased, your drink package will work at Hideaway Beach too.
Tip: Bring a large refillable water bottle to fill up with water at the water stations. It can be very hot and this way you will stay hydrated throughout the day.
Entertainment
There is a live band at On The Rocks Bar, a DJ spinning at the pool, and music all around the beach.
Cabanas
There are 2 types of cabanas that you can rent for the day Both cabanas include admission for up to 8 guests.
Hideaway Cabanas: These cabanas are located close to the pool.
Hideout Cabanas: These cabanas have a private pool and are more secluded to enhance your experience at Hideaway Beach. You can also enjoy bottle service here.
Prices for a cabana will vary based on the ship and sailing date but here is a general idea of pricing for each:
Hideaway Cabana: $899 – $1,699
Hideout Cabana: $1,899 – $2,699
Each cabana has a cabana attendant who visits your cabana regularly to bring your food or drinks. Food can be delivered to your cabana from the same restaurants located at Hideaway Beach (Hideaway Hut and Slice of Paradise)
If you have a drink package that you purchased, your drink package will work at Hideaway Beach as well as at the cabanas.
Cost of Hideaway Beach
Hideaway Beach is a separate cost from your visit to CocoCay. While CocoCay is included with your stop when sailing with Royal Caribbean, Hideaway Beach has its own separate admission fee. Pricing can vary and depends on the ship and time of year that you visit. Pricing can be around $49 per person, but I have seen the prices go up and down depending on the time of year and if there is a sale in your Cruise Planner.
To purchase a day pass to Hideaway Beach or to book a cabana, you can reserve these in your Cruise Planner via Royal Caribbean’s website. If you purchase either of these and the price drops, you can cancel it and rebook it at the lower rate. Remember, both admission and the cabanas are extremely popular and can sell out before your cruise even begins so it’s best to book sooner rather than later.
My Review
If you are looking for an adult-only location, I think that alone makes it worth booking. You have a combined experience of other portions of the island, but it’s even better without the kids around. ;)
If you want something more quiet on the island, Coco Beach Club might be a better location for you.
