Disneyland’s 70th Celebration is here! I got to visit Disneyland at the beginning of this event and love everything that there is to offer right now! Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have special events, entertainment, and food you’ll find throughout each park for you to enjoy.

Disneyland Park

Paint the Night Parade

This nighttime parade returns to Disneyland, and it is SO good. The Paint the Night Parade has more than one million LED lights on the parade floats. This parade is an homage to all of your favorite stories, including Monsters INC., Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and more.

Paint the Night runs twice nightly, starting near “it’s a small world” and ending on Main Street. Then, runs in the opposite direction during the second parade time.

This parade is VERY popular. You can start finding your spot along the parade route 2 hours before it starts. I suggest getting your spot at this time because the front row spots fill quickly. You can take turns getting food, going to the bathroom, or even riding a ride or 2 with your friends or family members to make the time go by quickly.

Note: Book the Plaza Inn Dining Package that includes your reserved seating for Paint the Night Parade and have a special area reserved for viewing during the parade on Main Street. I was not a fan of the menu for this event, especially for the price, so I didn’t mind waiting long for the parade because it was important to me to have a great seat.

Celebrate Happy Cavalcade

This short parade is SO cute! Mickey Mouse and friends (including Duffy, ShellieMay, Max, Disney Princesses, and Heroes) make their way through Disneyland Park and down Main Street. This cavalcade is short and moves quickly, so don’t miss it! It runs twice daily.

Note: check the entertainment schedule or Disneyland app for dates and showtimes.

New Additions to “it’s a small world”

Look for Miguel and Dante from Coco as you ride past Mexico on this ride!

Tapestry of Happiness Projection Show

Celebrate 70 years of Disneyland moments with lights, projections, and music on the facade of “it’s a small world.” This show runs nightly with multiple opportunities to see it. Be sure to check the entertainment schedule or Disneyland app for dates and showtimes.

Wondrous Journeys Nighttime Show

Watch this show nightly on Sleeping Beauty Castle as it celebrates the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios. This show has fireworks on select nights, so be sure to check the entertainment schedule or Disneyland app for dates and show times. Be sure to get to the area in front of the castle early to get a good spot because this area is small compared to the Magic Kingdom’s!

Disney California Adventure
