I just got back from a great 3-night cruise on board Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas! This was my second time sailing on this ship and I had a great time (again!)
Freedom of the Seas launched in May 2006 as the world’s biggest cruise ship. Obviously, now that is no longer the case but it was cool knowing this ship was the biggest at the time! Royal Caribbean updated Freedom of the Seas in 2020. This ship now includes a completely redesigned pool deck featuring The Lime and Coconut Bar, Playmakers Sports Bar, and a new Splashaway Bay water park for kids. However, the cabins were not part of the refurbishment, so they are a bit dated.
Current Itinerary
Freedom of the Seas is currently sailing out of Miami, FL, and is sailing 3 and 4-night Bahamas & Perfect Day Cruises. This is a great way to visit Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas. CocoCay is my favorite private island, so this is a great way to get to visit such a beautiful port of call on a quick sailing from Miami. See more about my experience at CocoCay in this blog post!
Things to Do
Freedom of the Seas delivers all-new amped-up thrills, delicious deckside dining, and bars that keep the party going all day and night long.

As you speed through each white-knuckle twist and turn, long, translucent stretches offer sea views as exhilarating as the ride itself. These slides have everything it takes to keep even the most courageous daredevils’ adrenaline levels way, way up.
Laser Tag- Clash For Crystal City: Eons in the future, Earth is an unforgiving place. The sun has burned out, casting the solar system into an endless winter night. Mankind long since evacuated and two lifeforms remain in the frozen wasteland — the Yetis, mountain beasts who evolved into highly intelligent beings. And the Snowshifters, mysterious creatures once able to assume any form. After millennia without light, both clans are on the brink of extinction. Unless one can claim a mythical ice city and its sustaining inner light in the latest glow-in-the-dark laser tag faceoff: Clash for the Crystal City.
