There are SO many great reasons to visit Walt Disney World this summer 2024! If you are still looking for something to do this summer and want to plan a trip, there is STILL time!  I know Florida can be hot during the summer (Trust me, I live here!) But I’m here to tell you, that your trip can still be great and manageable during the summer season. Sometimes the summer season is the only time that families can travel without missing work or school. The heat can be rough in Orlando, but don’t let that deter you from taking your vacation to Walt Disney World! There are so many great reasons to visit Walt Disney World during the summer. 3. New Attraction at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on June 28th, 2024. Embark on a musical adventure inspired by The Princess and the Frog. This ride is going to be similar to Splash Mountain, but it is reimagined with a new theme.

Tiana’s famous beignets will be available at the golden Oak Outpost for a limited time.

4. New Meet and Greet at Hollywood Studios

Meet Joy along with other Pixar stars at Pixar Plaza starting June 10th at Hollywood Studios.

5. Festival & Re-imaged Areas at Epcot

Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival

 Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival continues through May 27th.

Epcot’s Renovations

Enjoy the Epcot’s largest transformation in its history. Experience a new show, “¡Celebración Encanto!” which is a sing-along show running several times throughout the day at the CommuniCore Plaza stage. (Show runs June 10-September 6th)

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival

 Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival runs from August 29th – November 23rd, 2024.

6.  “The Lion King” Celebration at Animal Kingdom

Celebrate Lion King’s 30th anniversary throughout the entire park June 10th – September 6th. Purchase new merchandise, enjoy special treats, and watch the Festival of The Lion King stage show.

7. Character Dining Experience Returns

1900 Park Fare has returned to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! Meet new characters and enjoy a delicious all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet. Read more about the newly updated restaurant on my review here

8. After Hours Event at Typhoon Lagoon

Disney H2O Glow After Hours Event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Enjoy lower wait times for popular attractions—at this 3-hour nighttime event! (select nights May 25th – August 31st)

This limited-capacity event takes place from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM and features snacks, lower wait times for popular attractions, character appearances, and more.

This event includes free popcorn, ice cream, and select fountain beverages.

You can also receive early entry to the park at 6:00 PM before the event officially begins and get a little more time to enjoy the park before the event even begins!

7. Lower Crowds

Historically, summer used to be the most popular time to travel to Disney World. However, trends are starting to shift and crowds are now lower in the summer than many other times during the year.

9  Disney’s After Hours Events

Disney After Hours events are a special nighttime experience that is offered at different times of the year. Summer will also be a time when you can experience these after-hours events on select nights at select parks.  Disney After Hours Events allows you to experience more magic in less time when one of the parks stays open for 3 extra hours after the park closes for guests with special event tickets. You’ll also get to enjoy ice cream, popcorn, and select beverages— all included with the cost of admission!

Hollywood Studios: Select nights through August 29th, 2024

Magic Kingdom: Select nights through June 27th, 2024

Epcot: Select nights through June 27th, 2024

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party: Select nights beginning August 9th, 2024

10. Pool Days
