There are so many reasons to be excited about a Walt Disney World Stay during the summer! Look, I know Florida can be hot during the summer (Trust me, I live here!) But I’m here to tell you, your trip can still be great and manageable during the summer season. Sometimes the summer season is the only time that families can travel without missing work or school. The heat can be rough in Orlando, but don’t let that deter you from taking your vacation to Walt Disney World! There are so many great reasons to visit Walt Disney World during the summer. Take a look at my list of reasons below!
1. Save with a Special Resort Offer in Summer 2023
Disney World is offering summer travel deals that allow guests to save up to 25% on stays at select Disney Resort hotels. Florida Residents and Annual Passholders can also take advantage of additional offers, which I can also help book!
Disney also announced that Annual Passholders can save 30% on select voyages aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – a 2-night immersive adventure that continues to be a high-rated Star Wars experience by Disney guests.
2. Get Extra Time to Play in the Park
One of the most popular benefits of staying at a Disney resort is the extra time that you get in the parks. When you stay at an onsite Disney resort, you will receive 30 minutes of early entry into the parks, every day of your park visit. This is a great way to get into the parks early to ride some great rides and get photos without many people in the background. It’s only available for onsite Disney resort guests, which makes you feel special! When you stay at a Deluxe Disney resort or Deluxe Villa resort, you will also get extended evening hours in select parks on select nights. When you visit during the summer, you will get longer days, which gives you extra time to spend and play in the parks. Start early in the day, take a break during the hottest part of the day, and then return in the evening when the sun starts to set and you will still get a long time to experience the parks.
3. Lower Crowds
Historically, summer used to be the most popular time to travel to Disney World. However, trends are starting to shift and crowds are now lower in the summer than many other times during the year.
4. Pool Days
We all know how hot Florida can be during the summer. A midday break is a perfect way to cool off and break up your days in the parks. When you stay onsite at a Disney resort, you will have quick and easy access to get back to your resort during the day. Each Disney resort has a fun theme and fun poolside activities to enjoy throughout the day.
5. Disney’s After Hours Events
Disney After Hours events are a unique nighttime experience that are offered at different times of the year. Summer will also be a time when you can experience these after-hours events on select nights at select parks. Disney After Hours Events allows you to experience more magic in less time when one of the parks stays open for 3 extra hours after the park closes for guests with special event tickets. You’ll also get to enjoy ice cream, popcorn, and select beverages— all included with the cost of admission!
6. Round-Up Rodeo BBQ
Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant recently opened in March 2023 at Hollywood Studios! It is already so popular – I can definitely see why! I got to eat and experience this restaurant and loved it! Read my full blog post and review on this restaurant here!

8. TRON Lightcycle / Run Officially Opened

9. Nighttime Fireworks Show Returns to Magic Kingdom and Epcot

10. Complimentary Overnight Self Parking
If you are planning to drive and park at the hotel, Disney hotel guests will now receive complimentary overnight self-parking. Disney hotel guests can also enjoy complimentary standard parking at the Disney World theme parks as well as complimentary onsite transportation options like buses, monorails, boats, and the Disney Skyliner. This is one less cost to worry about paying for once you start your Disney vacation.
