When planning a trip to Walt Disney World, it can be extremely overwhelming and stressful! But it shouldn’t be! You are about to have a magical trip of your lifetime and it should be filled with fun, laughter and memories! How can you make the most out of your Walt Disney World vacation? Take a look below at a list of tips to help make your trip a memorable one!

Make a plan, but keep it flexible. This is IMPORTANT. With Disney, it seems like there is so much planning for your trip. Fast Pass reservations, Dinner reservations, Parades, Fireworks, etc. It can seem daunting and you may even feel the need to think you have to do and see everything. Know that your plans CAN change and that is ok! Disney World has so much to see and do. A change of plans doesn’t have to be a negative experience. Think of it as a positive thing and do your best to enjoy the moment. Remember, you are there to make happy memories with your family!

Set realistic expectations about the crowds at Disney World.  Are you coming at a during a busy season like Spring Break, Summer, or the Holidays? Be patient and know that you may not be able to see and do everything that you wanted. That is ok too! You can always come back. I always advise clients to enjoy multiple days in the parks and to visit Magic Kingdom twice so that way you can see and do more than if you were just visiting in one day.

Be familiar with the parks before you go. As a travel agent, I always send parks maps ahead of time to my clients. That way, you can make a plan and strategize the best and easiest way to get to your Fast Passes on time. This helps keep you from being stressed (Remember, we are trying to avoid that the entire trip hehe) Having a general idea of how to get around the parks will keep you from wandering around aimlessly and can help you plan the fastest way if you are running late to your Fast Passes.

Arrive early to the parks or stay extra late. Utilize the Extra Magic Hours if you are staying on property. When arriving early, you can spend the morning in the parks before it gets too crowded and plan to take a break mid-afternoon allowing you to come back later in the evening to enjoy the rest of your night in the parks.

Book Table Service Restaurants in advance. I know, I know- I told you earlier it is ok to deviate from the plan, but when it comes to booking table service restaurants in the park, book these in advance and stick with them! This guarantees you a table to sit down and rest with your family in the air conditioning. Sometimes restaurants are full and can’t take walk-ups, so having an advance reservation gives you a chance to try one of the many great restaurants on Disney property.

If you are only wanting a Quick-Service meal, take advance of using Mobile Ordering on the My Disney Experience app! This is a great way to get your food fast if you are dining during peak times. You can easily see what locations have the Mobile Ordering Feature in the app making it super easy to order and pick up your food. Dining in an off-peak time can also help minimize your wait times and keeps crowds to a minimum.

.

Stay hydrated: Use a delivery service to have cases of water delivered to your resort hotel to be able to drink throughout the day and at your resort. Even if you have the Disney Dining Plan, ordering from an outside delivery service to have some drinks and snacks for your room can make all the difference in keeping your family happy and hydrated. Snacks are always a great idea to bring inside the parks as well as to have back in your room for later in the day.

Take afternoon breaks: Take a mid-afternoon nap or dip in the pool for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Enjoy the AC so you can enjoy the evenings at the parks.

Add a Water Park to your Disney Trip: Spend a day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for some much-needed relaxation and fun at a water park. The water parks tend to be less crowded after the Spring Break and Summer crowds have returned home, so take advantage of a low key day by spending time at a water park!
