Disney’s Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Lines’ private island and is exclusive for Bahamian and Caribbean cruise sailings.  This island is gorgeous! There is so much to see and do for the entire family.

Think that Disney cruises are just for families with children? Think again! Disney Cruise Lines also makes sure to have fun for adults as well! When visiting Castaway Cay, be sure to visit Serenity Bay! There are so many beautiful spots to be on Castaway Cay, but Serenity Bay is the best place for views, peace, and quiet!

Serenity Bay is an adult-only beach exclusive for adults 18 and over. While Disney cast members are not checking IDs to use this beach, be considerate and know that it is for adults only. There are child-friendly beaches all over other parts of the island that are much better suited for families.

Getting to Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay

Your Disney ship will dock at Castaway Cay. In order to disembark at Castaway Cay right now, you will need to enter the virtual queue to get a specific time that you can get off. Once it is your time to leave the shop, you will proceed to the first tram stop. Or, you can walk to the main part of the island in case you want to stop and see characters along the way.

Serenity Bay is the furthest beach from the ship. I definitely suggest taking the tram! Once you take your first tram to Family Beach, you will then look for signs to Serenity Bay. You can walk here (I don’t recommend this because it is FAR), so take the next tram that is exclusive to Serenity Bay.

Pro Tip: Try to get off the ship early! The number of loungers and umbrellas is limited on this beach. The earlier you get a spot, the better your chances of getting a spot closer to the entrance and not far down the beach.

Serenity Bay Cabanas

There are only a small number of cabanas located at Serenity Bay. They are extremely hard to reserve in advance unless you are concierge level at Disney, or if there is a last-minute cancellation. You can also be put on a waiting list once you are on the ship.

You can also book an open-air massage inside a cabana. The earlier you book, the better!

Food and Drinks at Serenity Bay

Castaway Air Bar

This bar offers drinks for purchase. You can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from this bar. Disney castmembers walk the beach and they are constantly checking on you to keep your glass from being empty!

Serenity Bay Air BBQ

This location is your spot for lunch while on the island. You’ll find hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, veggies, coleslaw, cake, and cookies! This food is also the same that is served at the other food locations on Castaway Cay, so don’t feel like you are missing out when eating here.

Overall Review

I would 100% recommend visiting Serenity Bay if you have dropped your kids off at the Kids Club or if you are sailing without children. It was SO peaceful, quiet, and nice just to be around other adults all with the same common goal- relaxing on vacation! Serenity Bay is serene and worth the visit!
